Michael Horwitz is a Partner in the San Francisco office of Greentech, where he focuses on the energy software and services, energy efficiency, energy storage and renewable energy sectors. Michael advises large incumbents on energy transformation, as well as emerging sustainable technology growth companies.
His recent transaction experience includes advising GE Current on its sale to American Industrial Partners, CPower on its sale to LS Power, Lime Energy on its sale to Willdan, Stem on its growth equity capital raise, Enernoc on its sale to Enel, Itron on its acquisition of Comverge and AGL Energy on numerous transactions for their New Energies strategy.
Michael joined Greentech from Robert W. Baird where he was Managing Director and Head of the Energy Technology Banking team. Previously, he spent several years as Managing Director of Baird’s Energy Technology research efforts. Other prior roles include Managing Director and Head of Clean Technology research at Stanford Group Company, and a Partner & Senior Research Analyst in Clean Technology at Pacific Growth Equities LLC.
Michael received a Bachelor’s degree in Financial Economics and a Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy from Southern Methodist University. Michael and his wife, Cameron, are also very involved in the Exploratorium Museum, The Boys and Girls Club of San Francisco and Save the Redwoods League.
