PJ Deschenes is a Partner in the New York office of Greentech. He has nearly 15 years of experience advising companies and investors in a variety of sustainable infrastructure sectors. PJ leads Greentech’s Global Renewable Infrastructure practice and has advised on transactions representing over 12 GW of renewable power generation assets. He has a strong background in M&A, project finance, financial structuring and capital raising.
His recent transaction experience includes advising Noble Environmental Power on the sale of a 612 MW operating wind portfolio to the Carlyle Group, the Board of Directors of Deepwater Wind on the company’s sale to Ørsted, KKR on the sale of a 157 MW operating solar portfolio to Goldman Sachs Asset Management, Atlantica Yield on the formation of a strategic partnership with Algonquin Power & Utilities Corp., and TerraForm Global on its sale to Brookfield. He also has experience in advising growth stage energy technology companies including UpWind Solutions and 24M.
PJ joined Greentech from GE Energy Financial Services where he worked on equity investments in wind, biomass, and solar energy projects and companies, including nearly 900 MW of wind energy assets. Previously, he was a founding member and Partner of BlueWave Strategies, a cleantech-focused consulting firm.
PJ holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a Master of Environmental Management from the Yale School of Forestry & Environmental Studies. He graduated summa cum laude from the University of the South with a Bachelor’s degree in Forestry and Mathematics.
PJ is a CFA Charterholder, as well as a three-time USAT All-American triathlete. PJ and his wife Molly reside in Manhattan and have three children.
