Hilmar Scheel, Principal

Hilmar Scheel is a Principal with a broad range of experience having worked for many years as a management consultant, M&A advisor and as an investor in the renewable energy sectors. Based in Zürich, Hilmar covers companies and investors throughout Europe, predominantly in the solar, wind and biogas industries.

Prior to joining Greentech Capital Advisors, Hilmar worked for Good Energies, a global investor in the renewable energy and energy efficiency industries based in Zug, Switzerland. Hilmar’s duties focused on investments in the European solar sector including the merger of, at the time, the world’s largest manufacturer of silicon-based thin film modules.

Earlier, Hilmar worked in the M&A department of Deutsche Bank in Frankfurt, Germany. In this role, he covered clients from a broad spectrum of industries including telecommunications, construction and industrials. Hilmar started his career at Bain & Company with various projects in the fields of turnaround, restructuring, and private equity.

Hilmar holds an MBA from University of Hohenheim, Germany and earned a Master in Finance from the London Business School. While at university he was a member of the founding team of a start-up called eCircle, today a leading digital marketing supplier in Europe.
